The final standings for the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions are led by winner Cameron Smith, who took the PGA Tour victory with a win at the Kapalua Resort’s Plantation Course in Maui, Hawaii.
Smith and Jon Rahm faced off in a one-on-one battle in the final matchup of the PGA Tour Winners’ Event. In the end, Smith was a better shot, shooting 34-under 258 to hold Rahm back with a shot.
Rahm, for his part, had to birdie on the last hole of the tournament to contain Matt Jones, who closed with a course record tying 12 under 61 on Sunday to finish third in solo with a total of 32 under.
Smith took home the winner’s share of $ 1,296,000 of the $ 8,200,000 purse.
Sentry Tournament of Champions Recap Notes
Smith earned 62 points in the official world golf rankings with victory in the 72-hole stroke play championship, which will increase his world rankings.
Smith also earned 500 FedEx Cup points with the victory, which earned him a two-year exemption for the PGA Tour.
A total of 38 (of 38) players completed the tournament in the 10th event of the 2022-2022 PGA Tour season after a 36-hole cut was missed.
The 2022-2022 PGA Tour schedule continues next week with the Sony Open in Hawaii.
